The temple holds special ceremonies dedicated to various deities, including Bhaiṣajyaguru (the "Medicine Buddha"), according to the Chinese calendar. Long mantras chanted during that ceremony consist of homages to certain deities, while others are empowering, or blessing, mantras for the participants. Mantras can be counted up to 108 times, counted with mala beads by the monk leading the ceremony. Mantras are pronounced in Chinese. Meditation practice focuses on the Padmasambhava Mantra, in which the user visualizes certain body parts in white or red light in the channels, purifying the body. Part of the meditation involves mudrā hand motions where the user put the hand motions to their forehead, throat, and heart while saying three different syllables.Lian Sheng True Buddha Temple 真佛宗費城蓮彥雷藏寺
